AfterBuzz TV SNL Show (Jennifer Lawrence)

Stephen Seidel often wonders who doesn't love Saturday Night Live? Some people, but most of you do, so that means we can be friends. As host/creator of Renegade Reporting, I welcomed the chance to work for Maria Menounos as host of SNL's wrap-up show. The first episode of SNL of 2013 was mediocre at best, but did have some great concepts and characters. Jennifer Lawrence looked great, but could have used a few more leading comedic characters. Lumineers made me feel warm and cuddly. Take a look below.

Bring Hollywood Home ...or else

Hollywood is the birthplace of entertainment. Similar to the Gold Rush of 1849, many got word and began flooding the West Coast in search of a better future. This eventually led to the creation of the entertainment capital of the world. Flash forward to over a century later, where productions are migrating throughout the US, as well as the world. Runaway production is in full swing and many of LA's small businesses and families are suffering as a result. Los Angeles is home to an abundance of resources for any filmmaker such as: locations, actors, directors, and more.
Renegade Reporting supports The Bring Hollywood Home Foundation led by the incomparable Sharon Jimenez, as well as the Los Angelenos who are speaking out and making a difference in hopes of "Bringing Hollywood Home". Renegade Reporting's Stephen Seidel was in attendance to both introduce and speak in depth on the red carpet with activists such as: Bill Duke, Martin Guigui, Tyler Lyle, Gary Markowitz, Kevin James, Anna Jimenez and many more.

Everyday Engineering: Bump for the Holidays

It's holiday season and Everyday Engineering is here to bring you what everyone wants this year,  besides money, love, kisses, and a new smartphone. What they really want are apps to fill their phone full of goodness. And a great way to capture it all is by "bumping",  not in the traditional way, but in the nice anti-confrontational kind of way.

Bump is a great app, available for iPhones and Androids and allows you to exchange contact information, by simply "bumping" two phones together. It's technology identifies which two phones simultaneously shook and exchanges anything from pictures to social media content. You can also easily bump your business card to a friend, hottie, or that random guy on the back of the bus.

Here's a quick video to walk you through the application. For more information visit: bu.mp. That's bump with a period in between it, and "bumping" without periods could ALSO happen during this cold holiday season, if you aren't protected properly, which isn't always a bad thing. Otherwise, we'd have no need for Santa. Ho Ho Ho.

Everyday Engineering: Thanksgiving Multitasking Must Haves

It's MO-vember, so Men keep growing that mustache to raise awareness for Mens Health, and it's also time to give thanks, while you eat yourself into a coma. Stephen Seidel is going to give you a quick two minute crash course in what to bring to become the party king (or queen).

You can either be last minute lazy and gather up some things around your house, or head over to your local supermarket (Ralph's in LA), but make sure to go early. Make sure to surround yourself with loved ones, friends, or even your dog, and hopefully you can leave the 10 hour turkey cooking duties to someone else.

Regardless, be prepared to eat your face off, stash leftovers in the back of the fridge, eat again, and at least stay awake until the end of the football games to check your fantasy points. Download Slingbox for your phone too. (See video). Let's hope you're not eating jello mold, but if you are than that means you at least get to see Grandma. Here's what you need and THANK YOU for watching.

Everyday Engineering: Dollar DIY Changes

Yes everyone, ONE DOLLAR CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Given the state of the economy many people are limited in resources, Stephen Seidel has some suggestions for attending The Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, or The 99 Cent Store.  Each DIY tip helps you manage life's little issues, all for next to nothing. Everyone should have four quarters under the cushion of their sofa or a plethora of pennies in the piggy bank. Scrounge together a few bucks to turn your life around, because it's time for change. For example, you especially need to start saving if you're pregnant, because babies can eat! Now head on over to The 99 Cent Store or any Dollar Store, but watch this video first so you are ready to change your life with these simple innovative engineering ideas.

Everyday Engineering: Multitasking

In an age where people wants everything faster multitasking is the answer to effective time management. But is it really effective, and does it produce better results? Answers vary.

One thing is for sure, multitasking and texting are a bad match. How many times have we seen texting and walking, driving, swimming, or changing a diaper end up badly?
There are tons of productive pairings that save precious seconds in life’s ticking time torch, and Renegade Reporting's Everyday Engineering is here to bring you DIY solutions to life's little problems. Stephen Seidel brings you technology and entertainment all in one, tech-tainment at its finest. When you're in the shower waiting for Head and Shoulders to season your scalp back to the vitality of a teenager, grab a toothbrush to grind those pearly whites. Or grab yourself a razor to shave any stray hairs, and clean everything in a matter of minutes.
Sometimes men opt to use the shower to save seconds from fighting over "not putting the seat down", but this is not recommended. For regular mornings when nature calls, why not kill two birds with one stone? It’s helpful to have a dry erase board of action items to check off such as: filing toenails, tweeting your boss, whitening your teeth, or even reading about the latest celebrity to drive drunk.
Breakfast provides an opportunity for optimization, whether dumping everything in a blender for a smorgasbord shake, or choosing cereal over poached eggs. If choosing cereal, try mixing your Cinnamon Toast Crunch with Orange Juice instead of champagne on Sundays for a magical mimosa toast crunch. Mixing oatmeal and Coffee-mate creamer make a hazelnut haven for anyone in a hurry, or without milk. I dare you to try it, you might be surprised.
Many products also do the job of multitasking FOR you. A keyboard plugin turns your ipad into a typewriter, phone, and videogame all in one. All-in-one bottles of Shampoo/conditioner/bodywash and SPF/moisturizer/make-up combinations are perfect for ladies AND dudes wearing guy-liner.
There are several additional ways to cut your time in half, such as pre-planning, making lists, and organizing. More examples of time savers are: iron everything for the week at once, plan meals before shopping, cook all chicken and meats for easy reheating, pre-cut fruits and veggies into containers for grab and go. For the ultimate mobile snack, I highly suggest gogurt. How else can you quickly down yogurt without a spoon, and escape your begging dog in your kitchen?
Speaking of pets, you can save an abundance of time when walking your dog or ferret by working out too! Make sure to high step down the sidewalk, shoulder raise your dog, or even lunge your way to that dog park. Upon returning, you and Buffy will both be tired, lying on the ground, and gasping for air.
Other innovative ideas that are fun: washing your hair during a carwash, memorizing a language while sleeping via audio books, separating your grass stained whites from your regular clothes for bleaching, practicing handstands while mopping the floor, doing yoga during a roommate debate, and many more!
